File Upload (No Login)
Let anyone upload files through your Google Form without a Google account β files up to 1GB+ sync straight to your Google Drive, auto-renamed, with type and count limits.
Quick Answer
How can people upload files to my Google Form without signing in?
Import your form at formfacade.com/file-upload β Formfacade makes a copy that converts the Google Forms file-upload field into an HTML upload anyone can use without a Google account. Turn on 'Submit to Google Forms' in Advanced settings, save, then share or embed. Uploaded files (up to 1GB+) are auto-renamed and synced to your Google Drive folder, while answers flow to your linked Google Sheet.
The problem it solves
The moment you add a file-upload question to a Google Form, Google forces every respondent to sign in with a Google account β and the native form can't be embedded cleanly on your own site. That login wall quietly kills submissions from customers, applicants, and anyone outside your organization.
File Upload removes the wall: it replaces Google's login-gated uploader with a plain HTML upload anyone can use, and routes the files to your Google Drive when the form is submitted.

What you can do
| Capability | What it does |
|---|---|
| Collect files without login | Converts the Google Forms file-upload field into an HTML upload so respondents don't need a Google account. |
| Large files & limits | Accept files up to 1GB and beyond, set the max files per upload, and enforce file-type restrictions. |
| Sync to Google Drive | Files are automatically renamed and synced to your Google Drive folder when the form is submitted. |
| Free up Drive space | Access files from secure cloud storage built on Google's infrastructure instead of consuming your personal Drive quota. |
| Control access | Add collaborators to restrict files to specific users, or enable public links for anyone with the link. |
| Automate the workflow | Enable unlisted links and integrate with Apps Script, Zapier, or other Google Workspace add-ons. |
| Easy for respondents | Drag and drop on desktop, or snap a photo with the phone camera on mobile. |
Set it up
Start at formfacade.com/file-upload
Go to formfacade.com/file-upload and click Import Google Form (or Create new form to build one from scratch).
Paste your form link and Import
Paste your Google Form link, or click Browse to pick it from Google Drive, then click Import. Formfacade creates a copy of your form with file-upload-without-sign-in enabled β your original form is left untouched. A progress bar shows while your questions are copied, then the editor opens.
Want to keep your original form?
The import flow makes a copy. If you'd rather add uploads to your existing form instead, use the file upload add-on linked on this screen ("Prefer to keep your original form?"). The steps below cover the import (copy) flow shown in the video.
Preview or keep editing
You're taken into the Formfacade interface and, after a moment, asked "Do you want to preview this form?" β click Yes to preview it as a respondent would, or No to keep editing. Make any layout or branding tweaks you want in Preview & Customize.
Turn on βSubmit to Google Formsβ (donβt skip this)
Click the Advanced setting (gear) icon on the form header, open the Advanced tab, and make sure Submit to Google Forms is toggled on β it's usually already on for an imported copy, but check. Then click Save. Without it, submissions won't flow back to Google Forms and your linked Google Sheet.
Share or embed your form
Open Share to hand out the form. The Link tab gives you a short
near.tl URL with Copy, Share, and Open. The other tabs cover
Email, a printable QR code, WhatsApp, Website, and Embed.
More options also covers adding collaborators, adding contacts, creating
prefill links, and emailing the form to fill.
For a React or Next.js app, use the component covered in React & Next.js; for other platforms, see Choosing Your Platform.
Viewing responses & uploaded files
Once Submit to Google Forms is on, every submission shows up in two places: Formfacade's Responses and your Google Form / Google Sheet. The uploaded file rides along as an attachment on the response.
Find the submission on the Kanban board
Open Responses, then Kanban board, to see each submission as a card on the status board β Abandoned, Submitted, Completed, and Trash. A new upload lands in Submitted.
Open the response and the uploaded file
Click the card to see every answer. The file-upload question shows the file as an attachment chip β click it to open the file in a new tab. The panel also confirms Google Forms: Submitted and links to the live Form page.
Follow it into Google Forms & Sheets
Everything also lands in Google. From Edit β Advanced settings, click Launch to open the form in Google Forms, where the response appears under Responses β then click Link to Sheets to see it in a Google Sheet.

What lands where
| What | Where it lands |
|---|---|
| Uploaded files | Auto-renamed and synced to your chosen Google Drive folder / secure cloud storage |
| Form answers | Your linked Google Sheet, plus the Google Forms response view |
| In Formfacade | Manage submissions on the Responses board and in Reports |
Because answers keep flowing to Google exactly as described in How Responses Sync, the file sits alongside the rest of the response β nothing special to wire up once Submit to Google Forms is on.
Handling, storage & access
| Area | Detail |
|---|---|
| Max file size | Up to 1GB and beyond |
| Type restrictions | Enforced β you choose the allowed types |
| Max files | Configurable per upload session |
| On submit | Files auto-renamed and synced to your Drive folder |
| Storage | Secure cloud storage on Google's infrastructure (keeps your Drive quota free) |
| Access | Collaborator-restricted, public links, or unlisted links for automation |
| Respondent UX | Desktop drag-and-drop Β· mobile camera capture |
Unlisted links for automation
Enable unlisted links when you want Apps Script or Zapier to pick up each uploaded file automatically β for example, attaching it to a ticket or a CRM record.
