Importing Your Google Form
A click-by-click walkthrough of importing a Google Form into Formfacade — from the enhance page to the Formfacade interface editor.
Quick Answer
How do I import a Google Form into Formfacade?
Go to formfacade.com/enhance, click Try it free, and choose Customize your Google Forms. Publish your Google Form, copy its responder link, and paste it into Formfacade. Click Customize — Formfacade imports your form fields in a few seconds and opens it in the Formfacade interface editor, where you can preview or start customizing.
Importing is the very first thing you do in Formfacade, and it takes about a minute. Formfacade reads your existing Google Form and opens it in the Formfacade interface, where you can restyle, embed, and share it — without rebuilding anything or touching your original form.
This page walks through the entire flow, step by step.
Before you start
You'll need two things ready:
- A Google Form that is published and accepting responses.
- Its responder link (the public link people use to fill out the form). We copy this in Step 3 below.
Note
Importing is non-destructive. Formfacade never edits your source Google Form — it reads the form's structure and works from there, so your original form and all of its existing responses stay exactly as they are.
Step-by-step
Open the Formfacade enhance page and click “Try it free”
Head to formfacade.com/enhance. This is the home for turning Google Forms into customer-facing forms. Click the Try it free button to get started.

Choose “Customize your Google Forms”
Formfacade asks how you want to customize your Google Form and offers three paths. For importing an existing form, choose Customize your Google Forms.

Tip
The other two options — Build a new form with AI and Convert a PDF to a form — are separate ways to create a form from scratch. We cover those in their own guides; this page focuses on importing an existing Google Form.
Publish your Google Form and copy its responder link
Before pasting anything, grab your form's public link. In your Google Form, make sure it's published and accepting responses, then open Publish → Published options and, under Responders, click Copy responder link.

Heads up
Use the responder link (the one that starts with
https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/…), not the editor URL from your
browser's address bar. The responder link is what Formfacade reads to
import your fields.
Paste the link and click “Customize”
Back in Formfacade, paste your responder link into the “Paste your Google Form link to customize it” field and click Customize.

Let Formfacade import your form fields
In a few seconds, Formfacade extracts and understands your form's structure — every question, option, and section — and rebuilds it as a fully customizable form.

Preview or start editing in the Formfacade interface
Your form opens in the Formfacade interface. You'll be asked whether you want to preview the form or continue editing it — click Yes to see how it looks, or No to jump straight into customizing. From here you can restyle the layout, embed the form, and much more.

Troubleshooting
Most import issues come down to the link or the form's sharing settings. Here are the ones people hit most often:
| Problem | Likely cause | Fix |
|---|---|---|
| "Form not found" or nothing imports | You pasted the editor URL from the address bar instead of the responder link | Copy the responder link (starts with https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/…) from Publish → Published options |
| Import fails or fields are missing | The form isn't published or isn't accepting responses | In Google Forms, publish the form and confirm Accepting responses is toggled on |
| "You need access" / permission error | Responders are restricted to your organization or specific people | Set responders to Anyone with the link in Published options |
| Newly added questions don't show up | The form changed after it was imported | Re-import, or re-sync the form fields from Formfacade interface |

That's it — your form is imported
Your Google Form now lives in Formfacade as a customizable copy. Nothing about your original form changed, and responses will keep flowing to Google Forms and Google Sheets once you go live.
